Meet our Students

“MNU was truly the foundation of my teaching career. The teachers who taught me provided a well-rounded experience, which I believe is essential for becoming an effective teacher. The education and guidance I received at MNU prepared me to excel in my profession and make a positive impact on the lives of my students.”

Fazna Ahmed (First Lady of the Maldives)
Bachelor of Teaching Primary, 1998

“I chose MNU because the services provided at MNU are well worth the fees. At MNU, I have gained a lot of valuable experiences and lessons, not only in class but through activities such as sports, entertainment and those geared towards life skill development and preparing you for life. I have been studying various courses at MNU for a total of six years now, and in that time I find that everyone from the teachers to the office workers, work very well to give us the quality education expected of MNU.”

Munawwar
Bachelor of Business, 2022

Student Life

Life at Kulhudhuffushi Campus

Kulhudhuffushi Campus is the Northern-most campus of the Maldives National University (MNU), first established on 7th March 1987 as the “Rural Youth Vocational Training Centre (RYVTC)” offering technical training in the areas of engineering. The campus was re-located and rebranded as a campus of the Maldives College of Higher Education (MCHE) – the precursor to MNU – in 2003. Since then, the scope of training and higher educational opportunities available on campus has tremendously expanded beyond engineering, science and technology to include other areas such as teaching, nursing, Islamic sharia and law, Arabic language and Dhivehi language, psychology, business and management, computing and ICT, and coastal navigation. Several of the courses in these areas can now be completed up to master’s degree on campus.
