Overview
Japanese Language Elementary I, This Module content is intended to give students some familiarity, at an introductory level, with everyday life, activities and culture in Japan. Topics for listening, speaking, reading and writing will include everyday elementary level conversation skills including greetings and introductions, talking about oneself and getting to know each other, elementary skills useful to people visiting Japan including describing locations and shopping, topics related at introductory level to Japanese culture, geography including major cities, social interaction etc. There will be a balance between communicative activities, and understanding of vocabulary and grammatical structure. Read and write Japanese letters and some basic Japanese characters called Kanji.
