Overview

The Bachelor Occupational Therapy (Honours) is designed to prepare students to support individuals, groups, and communities in achieving independence and participation in meaningful daily activities. The programme equips students with the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competencies required to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for individuals experiencing physical, developmental, psychological, cognitive, or social challenges. Students will develop a strong foundation in occupational science, human anatomy and physiology, psychology, rehabilitation, health promotion, and evidence-based practice. The programme emphasizes a holistic and client-centred approach to care, focusing on enabling individuals to engage in activities that are important to their health, wellbeing, and quality of life. Through a combination of classroom learning, simulation-based training, practical laboratory sessions, and supervised clinical and community placements, students gain hands-on experience working with people across the lifespan in a variety of healthcare, educational, rehabilitation, and community settings. The programme also fosters skills in clinical reasoning, communication, advocacy, leadership, and interprofessional collaboration. Graduates will be well prepared to work as part of multidisciplinary teams, helping individuals overcome barriers to participation, maximize their functional abilities, and lead independent and meaningful lives.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) Successful Completion of Higher Secondary Education (2 passes in GCE A' Level/HSC) OR
  • ii) Attainment of MNQF Level 4 certificate in a related field OR
  • iii) Attainment of MNU Certificate 4 Foundation Studies (Science)

Language Requirements

  • i) Certified proficiency in English (GCE O' Level/ IGCSE English/ MNU English Language Competency Test or Equivalent)

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.

Structure

Fees stated above are tuition fees for local students. Fees for international students is twice the stated fees. All fees are quoted in MVR.
