This is a 100% research course. The candidates will do independent research and produce a 30,000 to 40,000-word thesis under the guidance of academic supervisors. The Master of Research in Security and Strategic Studies (MRes(SSS)) at The Maldives National University (MNU) is designed to develop advanced-level research skills and theoretical knowledge in the field of national and international security. The course addresses key themes such as security and strategic studies theory, geopolitics, defence policy, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, human security, food and water security and maritime security with a strong emphasis on regional relevance. The focus on national security of Maldives will be a key aspect of learning objectives and understanding security in the context of small states in regional constellations.

Fees stated above are tuition fees for local students. Fees for international students is twice the stated fees. All fees are quoted in MVR.
