Overview
The Bachelor of Teaching Primary - Special Education is a 3-year, Level 7 degree designed to equip educators with the skills to foster inclusive learning environments. Through a comprehensive curriculum spanning subject pedagogy, instructional psychology, language interventions, and specialized topics like managing behavior and early literacy, the course prepares teachers to cater to diverse learners and students with special educational needs. It incorporates practical experience via three hands-on practicum modules.
General Notes
- Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
- Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
- Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.

Careers
Graduates can work as primary or special education teachers in public and private schools, inclusive education coordinators, or learning support specialists, or pursue broader community roles supporting children with disabilities and their families.
