SUMMARY
Overview
This is PHD program is designed to promote educational research training and supervised research and is targeted at graduates with MEd, who aspire to an academic career in education. Potential prospective students may choose an area within the educational paradigm including but not limited to: Curriculum/Educational Reform; Educational Change and Innovation; Educational Leadership; Pedagogical Practice; Islamic Education; Philosophy of Education; Sociology of Education; Curriculum Development; Educational Policy; Education for Sustainable Development (ESD); Integrating Sustainability Principles in Higher Education; Humanities and Social Sciences in Education; Educational Technology and Pedagogy; Teacher Professional Development; Vocational Education and Skill Development; Internationalization of Education; Assessment.
Entry Requirements
General Entry
- i) MQA approved Masters degree and a Bachelors degree in the field of Education AND proof of research experience
Language Requirements
- i) A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS exam or a C grade in the Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or equivalent.
General Notes
- Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
- Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
- Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.
