Overview

The Bachelor of Islamic Studies is a comprehensive undergraduate program taught in Arabic language that provides students with a deep understanding of Islam, its teachings, history, and contemporary relevance. This course offers a multidisciplinary approach to Islamic studies, covering areas such as Islamic theology, Quranic studies, Islamic law, Islamic history, and the social, cultural, and political aspects of Muslim societies. Through critical analysis and scholarly exploration, students gain a solid foundation in Islamic knowledge and develop skills for engaging with the complexities of the Islamic tradition.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) A minimum of two (2) passes at the GCE 'A' Level or its equivalent examination including Islam and Three (3) passes at the GCE 'O' Level examination or its equivalent OR
  • ii) Shahadha Thaanaviyya OR
  • iii) MQA approved diploma or level 4 Certificate in a related field OR
  • iv) Completion of MNU certificate 4 Foundation Studies target program

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.
