SUMMARY
Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (PFPFF) course covers the mandatory training requirements for the issue of a Certificate of Proficiency in Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting as set out in Regulation VI/1 Section A-VI/1 Para 2.1.1.2 & 2.2, Table A-VI/1-2 of the STCW 1978, as amended. The course must be revalidated every 5 years. Learning outcomes On successful completion of this course, the participants will acquire the necessary knowledge, understanding, and proficiency required to: • minimize the risk of fire on board, • maintain a state of readiness, • respond to emergency situations involving fires and • fight and extinguish fires using the means available on board Entry Criteria • Ability to communicate in the medium of instruction (English)
