Overview

This 1 Day STCW ‘Refresher and Updating- Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats (RU-PSCRB) course meets the mandatory minimum standards of competence set out in Regulation VI/2 Para.1, Section A-VI/2, Para.5, Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW 1978, as amended. Under the STCW 2010 requirements for training and certification, Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boat certificate will require updated Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats training every five years On successful completion of this course, the participants will acquire the necessary knowledge, understanding, and proficiency • To be able to carry out duties before, during, and after abandoning the ship • Related to the maintenance of Life Saving Appliances on board, • Taking charge of a survival craft or rescue boat during and after launch, • Operating a survival craft and rescue boat engine, • Managing survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship, • Use locating devices, communication equipment, and signaling apparatus including pyrotechnics • Giving First Aid to casualties. Learners who are undertaking this training:- • Must complete four STCW basic safety courses as per STCW Code section A-VI/1 • Must have approved seagoing service, not less than 6 months • Are required to be fit enough to undertake practical drills in handling inflatable rescue boats, lifeboats, and life rafts. • Learners are requested to sign the self-declaration form as a pre-requisite to attending the Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats refresher course.
