Overview

Bachelor of nursing program prepares graduate registered nurses who are competent to provide safe and effective care at different levels of healthcare institutions. These nurses are an important part of healthcare team in providing professional and holistic nursing care to individuals, families and communities in illness and in health. This program develops nurses with enhanced leadership qualities, decision making and critical thinking skills.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) Pass with minimum 'C' grade in GCE 'O' Level Mathematics, Biology/Human Biology, Physics/Chemistry or equivalent AND Pass with a minimum 'E' grade in GCE 'A' Level in any of the following two subjects (Mathematics, Biology/Human Biology, Physic, Chemistry) OR
  • ii) Pass in Sahadhaisaanavi Mathematics, Biology/Human Biology, Physics/Chemistry OR
  • iii) Successful completion of Diploma in health-related field specified (Public Health/Primary Health Care//Pharmacy/ Diploma in medical laboratory technology)

Language Requirements

  • Certified proficiency in English (GCE O' Level/ IGCSE English pass/ MNU English Language Competency Test) or Equivalent

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.
