Overview

The Advanced Certificate in Islamic Studies is an intensive program that provides individuals with an advanced understanding of Islam, its principles, history, and contemporary issues. This course offers a comprehensive exploration of Islamic theology, Quranic studies, Islamic law, and the social, cultural, and political dimensions of Muslim societies. It aims to deepen students' knowledge and critical thinking skills in Islamic studies and equip them with the expertise to engage with complex theological and societal challenges.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) Three passes in GCE O' Level /SSC including islam, OR
  • ii) Attainment of a Level 3 qualification

Alternative Entry

  • i) 18 years and completion of Grade 7 with 1 year experience AND ability to communicate in the language of instruction

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.
