Overview

The course caters for those who are engaged in classroom teaching and wishes to enhance their competencies, as well as educators and other professionals who work outside of classroom. In addition, a pathway would be paved for professionals from other areas of study having an MQA accepted level 7 certificate. For all these groups, the course will provide the students with knowledge, skills and understanding that equip them to work successfully in diverse leadership roles across schooling and other complex educational contexts. The course will introduce participants to theory as well as national and international practices in educational leadership, policy, curriculum and research. It is believed that the knowledge acquired through the course will enable the participants to reflect on their practice and connect what they learn with their own experiences and broaden their knowledge and improve their skills through dialogue and the sharing of ideas and information. The course will also present an opportunity for the participants to select an area of specialization through elective sequences of learning opportunities, thus maintaining sufficient flexibility for tailoring the course to the participant’s individual interests.
