Overview

In order for education systems to operate successfully effective evaluations of assessments and its procedures are vital. This course aims to develop the capacity within the Republic of Maldives of persons with the sound knowledge about relevant aspects of educational assessment and equip them with the necessary skills to use relevant soft wares, carry out research related to assessments, monitor, analyse, interpret and evaluate data from school and nation-wide assessments.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) A Bachelors Degree in a related field AND
  • ii) If the Level 7 Qualification is not in English Medium, should attain at least 6.0 score in IELTS or equivalent.

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.

This can be applied both for everyday professional practice like monitoring and accountability, qualification, and evaluation and for broader research purposes. Graduates often pursue careers in Educational and pedagogical institutes, school owners (Ministry of Education, councils) and other organisations promoting life-ling learning and professional development. Human resource management, assessment centers, and consultancy in the commercial and governmental sector. In addition, career paths include employments in policy institutes and research departments at national and international agencies both government and non-governmental organisations.
