Overview

A course of this nature at primary level is essential for those who are interested in starting a teaching career in health, physical education and creative Arts and those who would like to upgrade their teaching qualification. Additionally, this course has been designed to train teachers with the recent reforms in the physical education and creative arts national curriculum. This course will train and prepare teachers with the knowledge, skills in health, physical education and Creative Arts subjects.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) Two passes at GCE AL/HSC OR equivalent, and 3 passes at GCE OL/IGCSE/SSC including Dhivehi OR
  • ii) Attainment of a Level 4 qualification OR
  • iii) Pass in MNU Foundation Studies (C4 level) (Targeted Course) or Completion of Advance Certificate in Education

Language Requirements

  • Certified proficiency in English (GCE O' Level/ IGCSE English pass/ MNU English Language Competency Test) or Equivalent

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.

Successful completion of this program will pave the path for our graduates to pursue higher education in the fields of Physical Education, Physical Fitness, and Creative Arts. They will also be highly qualified to teach Physical Education and Creative Arts at primary and secondary level. Also, this qualitifcation will open doors to teach at tertiary level as well. They will also be eligible to join our Masster of Education program.
