Overview

This is an exit of Bachelor of Environmental Management and not offered separately. Bachelor of Environmental Management is a general undergraduate degree giving a broad understanding of Environment. The degree is a Maldivian qualification that meets the international standards for a first degree. The degree structure and content have been developed as a collaborative effort between Maldives Environment Management Project (MEMP) funded by World Bank and Maldives National University. Bachelor of Environmental Management (BEM) course is designed to train skilled professionals in the area of environmental management so that Maldives continue to develop in a way that advances sustainable human development by providing the highest possible quality of life for our people through the wise use and development of natural resources.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) Two passes in GCE A' Level/HSC or equivalent OR,
  • ii) Attainment of a Level 4 qualification in a related field OR,
  • iii) Attainment of a Level 4 Foundation Study target program

Language Requirements

  • i) Certified proficiency in English (GCE O' Level/ IGCSE English / MNU English Language Competency Test) or equivalent

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.
