Overview

The MD Program of The Maldives National University is a five-year programme with features to equip graduates with the capabilities to work as a doctor. The course is an integrated programme which develops students both personally and professionally to become capable and caring doctors, committed to the wellbeing of the patient and the community.

Entry Requirements

General Entry

  • i) Grades BBB, ABC or AAC in GCE A' Level Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics and minimum FIVE passes in GCE O' Level including Chemistry, Biology, Physcis and Mathematics AND achieved English requirement.

Alternative Entry

  • i) (If seats are available after selection from General Entry) Applicants' with grade less than above but at least C grade in any three GCE A' Level subjects out of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics AND a grade C or above in GCE O' Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and one other subject, OR
  • ii) (If seats are available after selection from General Entry) An MQA approved pre-medicine program recognized by MMDC and C or above in GCE O' Level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and one other subject.

Language Requirements

  • Pass (above 'C') in GCE O' Level English or equivalent OR IELTS 6.5 OR equivalent form of International English language testing system

Other Requirements

  • Candidates will have to pass in an intervew and medical examination in order to get selected.

General Notes

  • Entry requirements are indicative. Depending on the sequence and the number of applications received, all qualifying students may not gain entry.
  • Circumstances may require the University to defer or cancel some courses, especially when the minimum class size (10 for certificate & diploma courses, 15 for Degrees courses) is not achieved.
  • Passes at GCE OL/SSC and HSC is considered to be grades "C" or above and passes at GCE AL is considered to be the grades "E" or above.
